PRO-VISA

As of May 2009 a simplified system of granting permission to enter the Republic of Cyprus - PRO VISA has been introduced. It applies only to holders of Russian passports who intend to travel from Russia to Cyprus by a direct flight. Pro-visa is a provisional visa which is issued upon completion of an electronic application at the Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus. The final entry permit (visa) is placed in a tourist’s passport at the airport upon arrival to Cyprus.
For the convenience of tourists, this system provides the possibility of electronic submission of the application, i.e. through the Administration portal.
A necessary condition for the issuance of pro-visa is a valid passport, with validity not less than 6 months from the date of application to the Consulate of Cyprus.
Please be ready to provide at the airport in Cyprus documents which confirm:

  • a purpose of travel and accommodation in Cyprus;
  • an availability of sufficient funds for stay and return to the country of permanent residence;

Pro-visa is issued for a single entry with the right to stay up to 90 days.

Duration of stay may not exceed 90 days during any 180-day period.
